Super Singapore

Singapore is just a 3 hour flight from Davao City via Silk Air, the regional airline of Singapore Airlines. A super progressive island-country at the southern tip of Malaysia, Singapore remains to be one of the best tourist destinations in Asia for great shopping, delicious food, interesting parks and other tourist attractions.

Bugis is one of my favorite shopping districts, a lively commercial area for fine dining, hanging at trendy cafes and bars that are open til late at night. There are numerous shops
with great bargains for clothes, shoes and other daily needs.  I always manage to find my way to this shoppers' delight from the different hotels we stay in  whenever we travel to this country. Always an enjoyable walk from the Raffles Plaza, Grand Raffles or Carlton Hotel, naming a few of the hotels we stayed in.
I eventually end up buying a pair or two of jeans, loafers, rubber shoes, shirts and even cellphone accessories each and every time!
Orchard Road is also a must-go-to destination. It is Singapore's retail center with discount shops, department stores and high-end boutiques amidst some luxurious hotels. The shopping malls here range from the high-end Japanese chain Mitsukoshi to inexpensive Lucky Plaza (where Filipinos like to hang out. So much so that when you're at the mall, it certainly feels like you're back in the Philippines!)

Aside from shopping, there are a number of places we would frequent for delicious food.
Mitsukoshi has a food court at the basement where they have really good Hainanese chicken rice at a reasonable price. Another great restaurant for fine dining at orchard is Lory's, serving the best tasting Ceasar's Salad and Prime Rib Roast I've ever tasted!
Then there's Newton Food center, a popular foodie favorite that has everything from barbecued seafood and roasted meats to traditional desserts.

A vacation in Singapore will not be complete without a trip to Sentosa island. One of the main destinations at Sentosa is Universal Studios where thrill-seekers can enjoy  breathtaking rides such as Indiana Jones and the Transformers. It is the only Universal Studios theme park in Southeast Asia. You can enjoy the adrenaline-pumping rides, be entertained by interactive shows among many other exciting attractions based on popular hit-movies and favorite television series.
Other attractions worth the trip to the island are the SEA Aquarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark, 4D Adventure Land, Dolphin Discovery, the Faber Peak Cable Car and the Sentosa Bungy Jump and Hydrodash.

Night life in Singapore is vibrant and definitely a must for everyone visiting. Boat Quay is famous for its thriving nightlife. It is situated on the banks of the Singapore river and is full of bars and restaurants. Music lovers should make it a point to spend an evening here and check out Harry's Bar for live performances by jazz artists. Harry's Bar is popular with yuppies, especially the banking crowd who flock here after work for its 'Crazy Hour' when beer prices are slashed. The interiors is a typical English-style pub while the alfresco riverside tables offers views of the colonial buildings and the towering skyscrapers of the Financial District. The menu offers typical pub-style fare, including Fish and Chips and Burgers.

Nature lovers will be happy to know that Singapore prides itself with their very own Zoo and Night Safari.
Take a night tram through the night safari and enjoy observing a variety of animals set in their simulated natural habitats.dia gives one a glimpse of how it might feel being in Calcutta or Mumbai touch of Hindu architecture. bedazzle as you enter the many shops displaying fabrics, costume jewelry and other fashion merchandise trul
